I enjoy checking back in to this site after a while and find that I am always ordering those beautiful bookmarks.  They are so eye catching and disperse those powerful messages.

I am proud to say that I am witnessing the men walking together within this community to promote the white ribbon campaign. They will be at a garden this Saturday promoting men as fathers teaching their sons about nurturing by planting a sunflower seed.

Congrats Pete, Peter, James and Stewart!-You are all Kind Men

This is such an awesome well developed project.  I especially find it extra special that the people are people who we know and love.  Excellent teaching tool that anyone can utilize.

Great to see lots of Native websites!  Us here is Red are in dire need of resources...I know of a few ppl who travel here or live here who try to get youth and ppl who want to learn more of the traditional ways to get them more involved. But I wish to see more and learn more myself.

The Native community at Six Nations, Brantford and area will be holding an event open to the community on Dec 3rd during the White Ribbon Campaign of Nov 25 to Dec 6th.

A group of Native males discussed what type of an event could be held considering the timeframe and it was decided by those males to create a banner and a collage committing themselves to live a violent free life and to describe what they believe is a kind man. We will also be holding a sharing circle for the males, youth and men, to publicly speak out against violence against native women.

We will also promote the beginning of a healing circle that will be inclusive and ongoing.

The event will be held on Dec 3, 2008 from 3 - 6 p.m. at the Y Not City Mission on Colborne Street in Brantford.

The males made numerous suggestions of events and the Kizhaay Anishinaabe Niin committee in Brantford has committed to holding further events throughout the year to allow Native males continued opportunities to speak out and make a committment to themselves and those closest to him.

thank you for your time and thank you to OFIFC and most of all thank you to the originators of this initiative

This is my vision come true. In my walk of life, I always described my father, James Alexander Wesley, as a "KIND MAN". First he was a funloving and humourous man but the whole package he was a kind man so when I first seen the booklet, my heart skipped a few beats and I was breathless for a few seconds there, as I had visioned a program to work with men that would be the catalyst in restoring their rightful place, first within their own families and in our Canadian society. I have a son and a grandson who have their grandfather's attributes of humour and kindness...and as their mother and grandmother I will do my part to nurture and love and care for these males.
